Christmas and the festive season are often seen as a time of joy, family gatherings, and giving. But sadly, for many children, this time can also be one of uncertainty. At Family Fostering Partners, we believe that every child deserves a place to feel safe and valued, especially during the festive period. That’s why year round, we remain dedicated to recruiting and training people to become foster parents.

Why Christmas is the perfect time to start your fostering journey.

Nat, a foster parent with Family Fostering Partners, tells us how the thought of Christmas inspired her to be a foster parent… “I was inspired to pursue fostering after we moved into our new house, and it was the first morning that we walked down the stairs. We’ve got a big, open living room. I was just like, ‘right, we need to have a Children here for Christmas. We need too! Just to have the fun and excitement!’. So that’s what we did, just to just for the joy and happiness. Being a foster parent means everything to me!”

For many, the festive period is a time when families and friends come together to celebrate. When embarking on your fostering journey, it’s important to have the support of your family and friends – Christmas is the perfect opportunity to speak to your family and start conversations about fostering.

Be There to Care at Christmas.

The “Be There To Care” scheme is a financial support program created by Family Fostering Partners to help ease the transition from other employment into fostering. It provides new foster parents with weekly payments for up to 10 weeks – allowing them to be fully ready and available to be matched with a child.

This initiative is designed to alleviate financial concerns and to encourage more individuals to consider fostering as their full time role. ‘Be There To Care’ is bespoke to Family Fostering Partners, and ensures that foster parents can focus on being fully available to care for a child once they are approved as a foster parent.  Click here to learn more.
